A home on a private island paradise in Belize could be yours – for $4.5 million
A Private Island Paradise Coming to Belize #
A luxurious island retreat is set to emerge in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Belize. The 280-acre private island, known as Caye Chapel, is being transformed into an exclusive club community featuring high-end residences, estates, a five-star hotel, and a championship golf course. The development is scheduled to open in 2025.
Located between Belize City and the Bacalar Chico National Park and Marine Reserve, the island offers proximity to the largest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere and one of the world’s largest sinkholes, The Great Blue Hole.
The island will be accessible via an airstrip, heliport, and marina. Twenty-four oceanfront residences, each with a private beach, will be available on the northern edge of the island. These two-to-four-bedroom properties will have a starting price of $4.5 million.
Additionally, 114 lots on the eastern and western shores will be available for customization, allowing buyers to build anything from small villas to six-bedroom grand estates. These lots will also start at $4.5 million.
Homeowners will gain exclusive membership to the Caye Chapel Golf and Ocean Club, offering various leisure, wellness, and dining amenities. A beachfront championship golf course will feature a unique 10-hole reversible setup, playable in both directions. The nearby practice range can be converted into a par-three course for afternoon and evening play.
For those seeking temporary accommodations, a 104-key hotel will be available, including 18 overwater bungalows extending into the ocean via a pier.
This development is part of a trend that has seen Belize gaining recognition as a travel destination. The country, one of the world’s smallest at just under 23,000 square kilometers, has recently won multiple awards in the Central America category at the 2024 World Travel Awards, including leading adventure tourism destination.
The project is expected to elevate Belize’s tourism sector, attracting visitors seeking a high-end experience in this Caribbean paradise.
