Boeing expects 787 suppliers to catch up by year's end, restoring output

Boeing expects suppliers to catch up on parts that have slowed production of its 787 jets to below five a month. The U.S. planemaker aims to restore output of its commercial programs by the year’s end. Both Boeing and Airbus are struggling to meet strong airline demand as they face problems within their supply chains and factories. Concerns like these are expected to overshadow the Farnborough Airshow. Boeing lowered 787 output earlier this year to allow suppliers to catch up. The company plans to return to five a month later this year as the supply of parts improves.
