Costco Members Are Buying Platinum. Should You?

Costco has now expanded its precious metal offerings to include platinum bars, following the growing interest in gold and silver. Although platinum hasn't quite matched their performance recently, its fundamentals remain strong. Recognized only in the 19th century due to its presence alongside other metals and its high melting point, platinum is approximately 30 times rarer than gold. This rarity may contribute to the unfamiliarity among investors. Consequently, the platinum investment market is significantly smaller compared to those of gold and silver, despite the presence of large exchange-traded funds.
