When he was 27 years old, a person moved from the U.S. to Lithuania, which is considered the world’s happiest country for young people. After more than a decade in Lithuania, the person believes that the lower income is worth it for a better quality of life. They settled in Lithuania’s capital in 2012 after graduating during the Great Recession. Initially taking a teaching job in Mongolia, they ended up staying in Vilnius after meeting their Lithuanian partner. They appreciate the slower pace of life and the focus on work-life balance in Lithuania. Many young workers are also relocating to Lithuania for its natural beauty and attractive lifestyle.
