Wilson also expressed that Musk’s understanding of her childhood is limited, as he was not there and failed to acknowledge the harassment she faced due to her femininity and queerness. Musk’s transition towards right-wing politics, demonstrated by sharing anti-immigration, anti-DEI, and anti-trans content, has drawn criticism. This shift in ideology, as shared in an interview with a right-wing podcaster, involved Musk claiming to have been “tricked” into supporting Wilson’s transition. Musk has a history of making derogatory remarks about gender pronouns and has rolled back safety protections for transgender individuals within his organization. Despite Wilson’s legal recognition as a woman in California, Musk continues to dispute her gender identity.
