Dozens of former Google workers have filed a complaint with the US National Labor Relations Board accusing the company of retaliation. The workers were fired or placed on administrative leave after protesting Google’s cloud-computing contract with the Israeli government. The workers are seeking reinstatement and back pay. Google defended its actions, stating that the protests involved disruption and made employees feel threatened and unsafe. Last month’s protests included employee sit-ins in Google’s offices in New York City and Sunnyvale. The protests were organized by a group called No Tech for Apartheid.
