Bionic Prosthetics Using AI Offer Hope for Injured Ukrainian Soldiers #

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, an estimated 20,000 soldiers have lost limbs, usually ending their military careers. However, advancements in bionics are enabling some veterans to resume their duty. Ukrainian veteran, Valera Kucherenko, lost both hands in a grenade attack but has been fitted with two bionic hands from Esper Bionics. The Esper Hand, the company’s first product, incorporates AI technology to quickly learn the user’s behavior and choose the necessary hand grips. The bionic prosthetics are helping veterans regain functions and even gain new functions.
